Commissioners Don't Take A Stand... Yet

Heated debated Tuesday night among Leon County Commissioners as they discussed the possible biomass plant in Tallahassee.
Commissioner Bill Proctor proposed a resolution to oppose building a biomass plant within residential neighborhoods.
Residents against the plant urged commissioners to officially oppose the plant... while an attorney for the biomass company B-G & E, explained that the location was chosen because it fit the company's desired criteria.
But residents say they're concerned for those who will be affected by the plant.
"Is it the kids who live in the area... the infants who live next to the plant or is it the business owners who have property in the area or Florida State's stadium when there's a game and there's an odor that passes over," says Josh Kasper who works near the proposed site for the plant and owns several nearby residential properties.
The Commission voted to postpone the resolution until January over the strong objections of Commissioners Proctor, Jane Sauls and Bob Rackleff who wanted to pass the resolution Tuesday night.
