A joint dispatch center is closer to becoming a reality for Tallahassee and Leon County.
Tuesday night Leon County Commissioners unanimously agreed to jointly fund and oversee a joint dispatch which would be known as the Public Safety Center.
The center is set to be built near the intersection of Weems Road and Easterwood Drive.
The county currently owns that property, but Tuesday night commissioners voted to allow the city to purchase half of the land... so each of the two governments would own half of the dispatch property.
