Flying in and out of Tallahassee to many other Florida cities often means a trip out of state first.
Currently, all Delta flights between the Capital City and Tampa, Orlando and South Florida are routed through Atlanta.
But State representative Michelle Rehwinkel-Vasilinda is proposing to allow airlines to fuel up in Tallahassee without paying state taxes.
"This we think is just one piece in the puzzle of encouraging airlines to come to Tallahassee which is a huge, huge piece of then encouraging other economic development," explains Rehwinkel-Vasilinda.
She pitched the idea to Governor Charlie Crist Wednesday. She says Crist liked the idea of lowering taxes while improving airline service in Tallahassee... and stimulating the economy
