The City of Tallahassee is analyzing its government structure and whether it needs to be changed.
Ten Tallahassee residents make up the Charter Review Committee and are taking a hard look at the city's governmental organization.
They're charged with deciding if changes should be made to the role of the mayor and city commissioners... then make recommendations to the Commission.
"It may go forward with some changes - depends on the nature of the changes. The last group five years ago recommended a couple of small changes that the commission was able to do by ordinance," says Jim English, the Tallahassee City Attorney.
On Monday, the group talked about consolidating Tallahassee with Leon County Government... and whether the mayor's position should have more authority and power.
The commission has 60 days to make recommendations.
