Florida's state attorney could be punished, if a local commissioner has his way.
State Attorney Willie Meggs made a comment about defendant Antonio Givens, who was found guilty of attempted aggravated assault on an officer.
On Tuesday, we told you Leon County commissioner Bill Proctor sent a letter of concern to Florida Governor Charlie Crist.
The letter describes a statement where State Attorney Willie Meggs says "we have a defendant here who is lucky to be alive because the officer should've shot him and taken his life for his conduct."
Today, Proctor sent a separate letter to fellow commissioner and chair of the Public Safety Coordinating Council, Akin Akinyemi, asking to have Meggs' statement discussed at the council's next meeting.
Proctor says Meggs should at least be reprimanded for his comment.
