TALLAHASSEE -- Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama makes a campaign swing through Tallahassee. He's the second presidential hopeful to visit the capital city this week.

Senator Obama spoke at a private fund raiser at the Challenger Center.
But before he headed in, he took a few minutes to talk to a crowd that just wanted to catch a glimpse of him. Some waited for hours, hoping to shake hands with a man who could make history.

"I don't really know his platform," said Rod Rolle, "But I would just like to have a black president of the United States."

A group of rappers, following Senator Obama's campaign trail, entertained the crowd until the presidential hopeful arrived.

Senator Obama made his way through the crowd to stand on a park bench, where he gave a short speech targeting young adults.

"This is an example of the energy that young people are bringing to this campaign," Obama said after hearing the crowd was organized through a Facebook message. "It's unbelievable."

The Illinois senator talked briefly about terrorism, health care and encouraged his supporters to check out his campaign message on the Internet.

A few of his 13-thousand "MySpace" friends managed to shake his hand before he slipped into his fundraiser.

"All of us think it's absolutely great to meet him," said Adam Robin, who came up from FAU. "We think we're going to be a part of history, whether he gets the nomination or not. it'll still be cool to say to your grandkids on day, 'guess who I met.' The handshake was great."

Five-hundred people attended the fund raiser event, raising about
150-thousand dollars for Obama's campaign.

Senator John McCain made a campaign stop in Tallahassee on Monday.
Republicans Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani have campaign stops planned here in April.
