Three candidates squared off for the Second Circuit Court Judge seat on Florida Primary Day.

Kris Dunn nabbed 21 percent of the vote. 49 percent of voters chose Barbara Hobbs. Josefina Tamayo received 30 percent.

This means Hobbs and Tamayo are headed to a runoff on November 6th.

We spoke with Tamayo. She said she was at her home with family and friends when she heard the outcome of the election. This is her first campaign. Governor Charlie Crist appointed Tamayo to the seat to succeed Kathleen Dekker in 2010.

Tomayo tells WCTV she feels good about the results and is looking forward to the November election.

We also spoke with Chauncy Haynes, Hobbs' campaign manager. He told us Hobbs feels very humbled and very happy about the results. He says she looks forward to perhaps making her dream come true in November.

Both Hobbs and Tamayo look forward to the November election.

Leon County, Florida- August 14, 2012- 5:30pm

One of the races we're watching in Leon County involves the Second Circuit Judge. Three candidates are squaring off for the seat.

There are many races across the Big Bend that are expected to be close, including the Second Circuit Judge, Group 2. The incumbent is Josefina Tamayo. Tamayo was appointed in 2010 by Governor Charlie Crist and the first Hispanic member of the court. Before the court position, she served as former assistant state attorney in Tallahassee. One of her challengers is an FSU graduate, Kris Dunn. Dunn was a prosecutor in the state attorney's office in Tallahassee. Dunn is also endorsed by the National Rifle Association. Also running for the circuit judge position is Barbara Hobbs, another FSU graduate. Hobbs is a long time defense attorney in Tallahassee and actually ran back in 2010 for this exact seat and lost.

In order to win, the candidate must receive at least 50 percent of the vote. If that doesn't happen the top two will face each other in the November election.
