Tallahassee, FL - Florida's Democratic Party is demanding a vote from Congressman Steve Southerland. They're asking him to support a clean budget and to stop the government shutdown.

The press conference was held on the lawn at the Capital Area Community Action Agency where the building usually holds 400 Head Start children, but was closed today.

"The solution that we're demanding is for him to take a vote along with the house on a clean budget bill, because lots of vital services are going to be lost like Head Start.," says Barbara DeVane, Secretary of the Florida Alliance for Retired Americans.
