The coalition is a continuation of the "We are Florida" campaign that was started in 2011. The campaign is designed to make sure immigrant's make it out to the legislative session in order to get their voices and interests heard.
"We're here to be seen and for them to remember that we're still here. We came out and we voted, and we want them to take our families into consideration when they're coming up with bills," said Melissa McGuire-Maniau, one of the group's organizers.
The coalition says they will focus on protecting immigrant's wages, access to health care for immigrant children who are legal residents, and elections reform during this legislative session.
