Tallahassee, FL - The future plans for the mayor of Tallahassee and his political career are expected to be front and center Tuesday.

Mayor John Marks says he will announce what he has decided to do with his next career move.

Marks was first elected mayor in 2003, then re-elected in 2006 and 2010. Next year is an election year and he hasn't openly spoken about what his next move will be. That's until now.

"I've been thinking about it with my family and you know we want to make sure Tallahassee moves forward in the appropriate way and that's what that decision will be about," Marks said.

So far, City Commissioner Andrew Gillum has announced his candidacy for mayor in the upcoming election. Gillum says he spoke to Marks about his decision before announcing it.
