The music and the speeches can be very moving during a national political convention for either party. Many people donned their best red, white and blue and were revved up by the convention. But does this excitement by all the glitz and glam of an RNC or DNC sway Americans at the polls.

"I think it plays a marginal factor," says Tallahassee resident, Booker Daniels.

"I don't think it does at all, or very little," says Tallahassee resident, Rochelle Schweizer.

Many people we spoke to feel most voters have already made up their minds when it comes to who they'll vote for and say conventions serve other purposes.

"The republicans I'm sure watch the DNC to evaluate their position and vice versa," says Schweizer .

"The Republican Convention in Tampa, I suspect, it's more important because the GOP candidate is still defining himself. The democrats, on the other hand, I think it's clear who the president is and what his vision for the country is so it won't be quite so important," says Daniels.

So while the RNC will rage on in the same fashion for the rest of the week, to be followed by similar excitement at next week's DNC.
And with many saying this is a very close election, it's still going to be anyone's guess of who will head to the White House come November.
