Rep. Wilson to Push Bill to Deter 'Stand Your Ground' Law

Tallahassee, Florida - June 14, 2012 -

Congressional Democrats from Florida will introduce legislation seeking to force states to repeal "stand your ground' laws that give those under attack more lenient treatment when they've fought back. Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla., is spearheading the move, saying Trayvon Martin, who lived in her district, might not have been shot this year if George Zimmerman hadn't felt protected by such a liberally-applied self defense law. Zimmerman is expected to claim self defense under the stand your ground law, passed in 2005 in Florida, which says those who feel threatened have no duty to try to get out of a situation before taking lethal action. The law is also under close scrutiny in Florida, where a panel appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to give it a new look held its first meeting on Tuesday. "The thought that George Zimmerman could get away with such a horrendous crime is a travesty of justice," Wilson said in a statement announcing she would push for the legislation. Zimmerman hasn't been convicted, but faces second degree murder charges. Wilson said she plans to introduce the measure next week. It would withhold federal transportation money from states that adopt stand your ground laws. Observers say in the Republican-controlled Congress the measure has no chance of passage.

Just look at what has happened in England and Australia since the gov’t took away their guns. Really, I mean it, please look it up. The people there are now victims on a regular basis. I know for a fact that if they could do it all over again, they would never give in to the liberal idea giving guns only to the military and leaving you and your family defenseless. Never, never, never give up ANY gun rights because they will whittle away at them till we will end up just like England.

Is Fredericka wearing tin foil under that closet full of stupid hats the rotates. Is she being beamed in from outer space, or just what kind of people live in the district that votes this crazy into the legislature? There is only one way for any law, her way. She knows more than God, and everything must be changed to suit her. Perhaps, along with voter picture I. D. card, we need a competency test for those running for office, and maybe some of the voters.

I hope the police get there quick enough if Frederica ever feels threatened. Good luck with that.

Sadly, the need to prove you are innocent if you are put in a position to have to kill someone prior to the "stand your ground" law in Florida is the very reason it was passed. Do you realize all it takes is a couple of "witnesses" to lie on behalf of the attacker to say he or she was attacked by the innocent party and the innocent party's on the way to prison or worse? And don't tell me it won't happen. It has and will again.

These midievals, archaics laws are design to legalize the killing people of color no matter how trival the situation is. Look at all these laws that have pop up since the Civil Rights Revolution. I understand the perception that these people of Europeans descent, wishes to have a pure white society as some superior race and dominate the world. As hanging and bombing wasn't enough, stand your ground became the replacement concept. War on drugs, small populations incarcerated of the largest population of abusers. Three-stikes but not for alcohol murders. H'mm. No one seem to care if Russians, Germans, Italians, Polishs,Swedens come to this country, no problems. It is all by design and these blue eye demons will not stop until they meet a compelling force. These people are driven by greeds and total power. Mitt Romney, who is a John Birch Society guru and so are a majority of Congress, Supreme Court, the lists is long.

William get some professional help. This is 2012 not part of a history written by writers designed to incite violence and divisive behavior. Most of the groups you listed were oppressed in their home countries by hunger, poverty, war, etc...Spend some time in the library reading about the history of these people other than your own fiction. Stand your ground is an important concept to protect. Someday, you may need to use it.
