Tallahassee, Florida- August 14, 2012
Two seats were up for grabs for the Tallahassee City Commissioner. Seat one is being vacated by city commissioner Mark Mustian, who decided not to run for re-election.
With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Eric Friall pulls in 8 percent of the vote. Bob Fulford received 4 percent of the votes. Delaitre J. Hollinger came in with 4 percent. Daniel Parker received 11 percent. Scott Maddor got a total of 40 percent of the votes. And Steve Stewart came in with 34 percent of votes.
It means Steve Stewart and Scott Maddox are headed to a runoff on November 6th.
It's been a heated battle between the two candidates.
We spoke with both of them about how they feel about having to do the runoff election.
Scott Maddox was excited he kept his campaign positive.
"We're going to go to a runoff in November but I'm excited that we kept our message positive. We talked about where Tallahassee needs to go in the future and I'm glad the voters agreed with us."
Steve Stewart felt liberated after hearing the results.
"It's been liberating. You get to the final day of a long campaign but there's nothing else you can do. And so we were excited once the votes came in. It's been a little bit stressful but more relaxing then yesterday was."
Both Stewart and Maddox are ready for the November election.
