Tallahassee, Florida - July 17, 2012 - Noon
Tallahassee's mayor has decided he will fight the ethics complaint against him. According to Mayor John Marks' attorney Barry Richard, the mayor has decided to take his case before an administrative law judge.
Last month, the Florida Ethics Commission found reason to believe Mayor Marks may have violated the state's ethics code. Richard says the mayor decided against settling the case because he doesn't accept the ethics commission's findings. Richard also says the mayor's decision means the case will likely take months to resolve.
City Commissioners Mark Mustian and Gil Ziffer say it's the mayor's decision to make.
The man who filed the complaint, local businessman Erwin Jackson, calls it a delay tactic.
