Gadsden County, Florida- August 14, 2012
Three names are on tonight's ballot in the race to become the next sheriff of Gadsden County.
Today is the first of two elections they'll have to fight through to claim that top spot.
Sheriff Morris Young became the first black sheriff in the county 8 years ago. Now he's seeking a third term. To do so, he has to get past tonight.
Young is up against fellow democrats Donny Young and Donald Hamm. Donny Young started his career in 2003 as a patrol officer with the Montgomery Police Department.
Donald Hamm retired from the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office as a Sergeant after 23 years with the office. Now he's looking to go back to the office as the Sheriff.
The winner of tonight's election will be on the November ballot with independent Glenn Russ.
