Unemployment Rates Fell in 41 States Last Month

Overall, the Labor Department says rates fell in 41 states last month, rose in six and were unchanged in three. The national unemployment rate dropped in September to 7.8 percent, the lowest level since Obama's first month in office.

Southside Voter Forum to Look at Sales Tax Spending and Candidate Positions

A Voter Awareness and Candidate Forum is scheduled on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Southside Arts Complex located at 2525 South Monroe Street. The purpose of the Candidates' forum is to allow the citizens of the Southside to learn more about the candidates' positions and their views relative to how they would serve if elected.
