Man Held in Florida For Threatening Barack Obama's Life

Updated 1:43 PM 8/8/08:

Federal authorities in Doral, Florida are holding a man accused of threatening to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

22 year old Raymond Hunter Geisel was ordered held without bail Thursday.

The Secret Service says Geisel made the threat while training to be a bail bondsman in Miami in late July.

Geisel was arrested Saturday and is charged with threatening to assassinate Obama.

Another tipster says Geisel also threatened President Bush.

A search of the man's SUV and hotel room uncovered a loaded handgun, knives, dozens of rounds on ammunition, body armor, and a machete.

The SUV was also wired with emergency lights.

Geisel claims he's originally from Bangor, Maine.

He was arrested there and spent two days in jail just last year after being charged with criminally threatening someone else.

But Geisel contends he made no threats against Obama or President Bush.

The charge of threatening a major candidate for president or vice president carries a maximum prison sentence of five years.

There Would Be a Boost of 1,000 Points on the Stock Market the First Week After He’s Elected' Happy days will soon be here again. Get ready for a huge boost in your pocketbook immediately after The Messiah is elected. The world will love us again, seas will part and Wall Street will see a boom unprecedented in modern history. And because Obama would be welcomed by global leaders, Democrats believe his presidency would have a dramatic beneficial impact in the United States. “Nothing would have more impact on the economy and the price of oil than his election as president,” they say. “There would be a boost of 1,000 points on the stock market the first week after he’s elected. This would be better than a chicken in every pot.”..................... I'll have some of what he's smoking.

The man WAS an idiot for making the threat. Even if he was joking. In this day and time you just don't do that. I for one will be voting Republican. Until the Democtats get someone worth a dang, I will vote Republican. I am not against blacks or women running the country, BUT unfortunately Bill Cosby is not running for President. As a White female, I can't think of any females that would be worth a dang! If only Maxine was for real. I would vote for her in a heartbeat

Reading these comments remind me that "stupidity" is an equal opportunity affliction. Regardless if you like or dislike who is running for president, I thank god no one who comments on this article is running. IQ test should be required for people to vote. From the looks of some of the comments below, some of us,and I will include myself shouldn't be allowed.
