Fellow House members have feted Speaker Larry Cretul with a going away ceremony that included wheeling a red, chopped Harley-Davidson motorcycle into the chamber.
The bike, though, was just a prop, not a gift for Cretul, a motorcycle enthusiast. It was pushed into the House as "Easy Rider" played on the sound system Wednesday.
Cretul, who already has his own Harley Screaming Eagle, instead received a helmet signed by his House colleagues, leather jackets for himself and his wife, Lana, and a special tag for his bike reading "SPEAKER."
The Ocala Republican, though, did get a chance to sit on the chopper and proclaimed it "pretty cool."
He cannot seek re-election this year because he has reached his eight-year term limit.
