First priority 24 hour medical service and give incentives to create more jobs.

-Attended Lake City Community College
-Served as first EMT for Hamilton County Hospital as EMT Administrator
-Attended San Juan College for safety Management
-Life work became safety Management in Heavy Duty Construction and teaching new employees safety
-Past member of Florida / Georgia Society of Safety Engineers
-Retired to farm raising cattle
-Married for 42 years and have a daughter who also graduated from Hamilton County High
-Attends First Advent Christian Church of Jasper

Guarantee no tax increase to the residents of Hamilton County, Work with Economic Development to entice future business owners to come to Hamilton County. Become major part in Hamilton County School system and support the people of Hamilton County in their every need.

BIOGRAPHY BY CANDIDATE

My name is Josh Smith, and I am running for Hamilton County Commissioner - District 2.  I am employed at Windstream Communications, where I have been an install and repair technician on local telephone lines since December 2005. I have been married to Shanda Simmons Smith for 8 years, and we have 2 children - our son, Jaxon, is 6, and the newest addition to our family is our daughter Anna-Kayte, 16 months.

Our family attends Burnham Christian Church, where I hold a position on the board, serve as a Deacon, and coach the Impact Youth Football Team. I am also a volunteer Senior League Baseball coach at the Hamilton County Recreational Center and a member of the Florida Farm Bureau. In my spare time, I enjoy hunting, fishing, and raising cattle.

I understand that there are many issues that are important to all of us in Hamilton County, issues that will define the future for our children and their families. I am eager to learn what is important to you, and I hope that you will allow me the honor of representing you and being your voice.
