We have not been able to get an update on the condition of a man whose neck was slashed after a fight Friday night.

Tallahassee Memorial says it does not have a patient listing for Johnny Ellis and Tallahassee Police have not been able to update us on his condition either.

47 year old Walter Linton was arrested and charged with attempted murder in the wake of a stabbing behind The Shelter Friday night.

Arrest papers say victim Johnny Ellis was slashed in the back of the neck with a boxcutter. Officers described the wound as 3 1/2 to 4 inches long and an inch or more deep.

A witness told police the slashing followed a fight in the parking lot of the nearby Time Saver convenience store. The witness told police Linton was harrassing a woman and Ellis tried to intervene.

He says Linton later came up behind Ellis as he stood on the sidewalk near the shelter and slashed his neck.

Police found Ellis in the parking lot at Mike's Beer Barn.

Police found Linton on Macomb Street near the shelter. Officers say he had blood on both of his hands and a folding knife in his pocket.

Our first thoughts, whensomething lik this happens is to give-up on the person who committed the crime. If any of you believe in MOST HIGH GOD and you've been taught thedogmas of your faith. What if God gives-up on you the way that you all are giving u on him. And from a legal standpoint, after having advised Walter of his rights, the arresting officers should not have been asking questions anyway so that the media could sensationalize the incident in order to garner or elicit the most negative outlooks from all of the crackpots and idiots who have an opinion and computer and a whole lot of time. And we all know what they say about opinions...don't we?

You don't why he's smiling. He could be smiling out confusion, fear, or any one of the myriad of emotions we feel when we are embroiled in a situation such as this and adrenaline s pumpimg through our bodies. He might have shelter, meals and a pillow, but you're still stupid!!
