FAMU leaders, students, and alumni got the chance to tell state lawmakers what they need face-to-face.

The FAMU Office of Alumni Affairs presents FAMU Day at the Capitol today.

Guests included: incoming President Elmira Mangum, Interim
President Larry Robinson, administrators, trustee members, as well as the Marching 100 and FAMU cheerleaders.

Earlier today, Dr. Robinson used FAMU Day at the Capitol to sit down with state legislators. University leaders and students were also invited. They spent the day letting senators and representatives know about FAMU's achievements, as well as challenges, which of course, is where the lawmakers are being asked to pitch in.

"It really gives us, the FAMU community, an opportunity to engage with our elected officials. It also gives us a sense of purpose. It allows us to connect the needs and wants of FAMU to the resources that are readily available to the state," said Anthony Siders, FAMU SGA President.

Some of FAMU's priorities pointed out to legislators today include getting state funding to complete the remaining phase of the Pharmacy building in Crestview and closing the salary disparity within faculty compared to the state and national average.
