2013 Back-To-School Community Experience

WHAT: The new school year is rapidly approaching. Teachers are prepping their classrooms.

Parents are readying their kids, and the community is stepping up to help ensure each Leon County student is prepared for a successful year.

Mayor John Marks, Reverend O. Jermaine Simmons and area sponsors and partners will officially announce the 2013 Back-to-School Community Experience and kick off the outreach by distributing supplies to students at Jacob Chapel Baptist Church.

The Back-to-School Community Experience will take place on Saturday, August 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the North Florida Fairgrounds.

The event’s title sponsor, Walmart, has donated over $10,000 of school supplies to be distributed to Leon County students. More details will be provided at the kick-off.
