FSU Press Release:
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. —
Florida State alumnus Jeffrey L. “Jeff” Hill has been inducted into The Florida State University Alumni Association’s Circle of Gold for his distinguished contributions to the university. Hill, the incoming chairman of The Florida State University Alumni Association National Board of Directors, is a First Vice President-Investments with Wells Fargo Advisers in West Palm Beach, Fla. Hill was presented with his Circle of Gold medal and admitted into this prestigious society on June 4 at the Florida State Student Union.
“Jeff Hill is an alumnus who has experienced the best of Florida State, both academically and athletically, and he continues to give back through his service on the Alumni Association National Board of Directors and involvement with Seminole Boosters and the Presidents Club,” said Scott Atwell, president of the Alumni Association. “I look forward to working with Jeff as he leads our board of directors into this new era of the university, representing more than 270,000 alumni around the world.”
Hill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Florida State in 1969 and was a letterman in baseball from 1967 to 1969. Hill threw a no-hitter in 1968 against Springfield. His performance is one of only eight no-hitters in Florida State history.
Hill became a Life Member of the Alumni Association in 2002, and has served on its board since 2000 in several capacities — as treasurer, secretary and vice chairman. Hill also is a member of Seminole Boosters, the Varsity Club and the President’s Club.
The Alumni Association gives the prestigious award to worthy individuals who, through their service and achievements, personify the university’s tradition of excellence. More than 175 men and women have been inducted into the Circle of Gold since the association established the award in 1993.
