Nearly 100 students are vying for a title that names them "The Smartest of Them All"!
It's a meeting of the minds here at Florida State University where some of the best and brightest high school students are here to battle it out to win the Brain Bee.
The students arrived at 9 this morning and the final showdown sudden death event went down at 3 o'clock. The tests were given by FSU grad students. One quizzing session involved labeling sheep brains. Another portion involved "Patient Diagnosis."
"We're going to do a little question and answer session of our own to see if I'm smarter than a 12th grader. So here it goes. Give it to me," said reporter Danielle Eldredge.
"My brother took me to the hospital when I said I was hearing voices. He said I was hallucinating. I told him to be careful what he said because the room was secretly monitored by the government. What do you think?" said Brain Bee facilitator Andrea Stathopoulos.
"Paranoid Schizophrenia?"
"Schizophrenia very good."
"Awesome. So do you think I'm smart ?" said Eldredge.
"You sound pretty smart."
"Alright, you heard it from her. "
We just got word... Congratulations to Kevin Byun from Maclay High. He's this year's Brain Bee winner!
Payal Patel from Rickards is a close second. Jeremy Jones from Chiles in third.
