Envision Credit Union Announces Winner Of New School Mascot Costume

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Envision Credit Union today announced Conley Elementary, home of the yellow jackets, as the winner of its 2013-2014 mascot contest. The mascot contest was part of Envision’s Swipe for Schools program, a cash rewards program benefitting Leon County Schools. Conley Elementary won with 497 votes, Ft. Braden Elementary came in second with 300 votes and Montford Middle School came in third with 146 votes. More than 2,400 votes were cast in the eight-month contest. The new mascot costume was unveiled today at the elementary school, where it was welcomed by mascots from other local elementary schools.

“Conley Elementary is so excited to win this new mascot costume from Envision Credit Union,” said Conley Principal Laura Brooks. “We know that when our students have a positive association with their school and their mascot, they have a better experience in the classroom.”

"Everyone at Envision really enjoyed sponsoring this mascot costume contest, and we’ve been looking forward to the big reveal for months," said Ryan O'Connor, Assistance Vice President of Marketing for Envision Credit Union. “We look forward to another successful Swipe for Schools program next year with full participation from our members.”

Through the Swipe for Schools program, Envision Credit Union is encouraging members to support education by using their Envision VISA credit cards. With every swipe of an Envision VISA credit card, five cents will be donated back to Leon County Schools, up to $10,000. During the 2013-2014 school year, these funds provided meals and books over the Spring Break Holiday for approximately 300 students who rely on meal assistance during the school year.

Envision Credit Union and Leon County Schools Superintendent Jackie Pons today announced a competition for Leon County residents to determine which school in Leon County will receive a new mascot costume from Envision Credit Union.

Through March 14, 2014, students, teachers, parents, and everyone else can visithttp://www.envisioncu.com/swipeforschoolsand vote for their favorite school in Leon County.

The school that receives the most votes will win a new mascot costume, donated by Envision Credit Union.
