Tallahassee, FL - Middle and high school students in the area are "gearing up" for college.
It's a part of the 2013 Florida GEAR UP Summer Institute.
"GEAR UP" stands for 'Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs.'
Incoming ninth through 12th graders will attend several courses including english, math, reading, science, and financial management.
They'll also participate in enrichment classes such as, dance, spoken word, music production, and more.
GEAR UP Project Coordinator Senovia Williams says, "They get to change classes just as the college kids do. College is going on session right now, so here they are. They have their big binders that they tote around with them from day to day. They're in classes for about 50 minutes and then they eat lunch in the cafeteria with the college students as well."
