LCS Announces Five Finalists For 2014 Teacher Of The Year Award

Congratulations to the 2014 LCS Teacher of the Year Finalists:


  • Shannon Bottini, Gilchrist Elementary School—teachers 4th grade (all core subjects); has been teaching 9 total years, all at Gilchrist.

  • Susan Goracke, Canopy Oaks Elementary School—teaches 5th grade science; has been teaching for 18 total years, 10 at Canopy Oaks.

  • Deborah “Laurel” Lemley, Leon High School—teaches English II Honors/Gifted and English II; has been teaching for 37.5 years, 34.5 at Leon.

  • Mailin Muy, Roberts Elementary School—teaches 4th grade; has been teaching 8 total years, 4 at Roberts.

  • Robin Oliveri, Godby High School—teaches High School Science and is the District Secondary Science Developer; has been teaching for 14 total years, 4 at Godby.


Each finalist will be interviewed by the selection committee this week, and the winner will be surprised at their school on Tuesday, February 11th at 10:00am.
