A Tallahassee resident fought back tears as two dozen teenage girls nailed the planks and rails of her new wheelchair ramp.
The girls are part of the Leon County Sheriff's Office Explorer Camp. It encourages leadership and community service. The teens come from all different high schools in Leon County.
Today the girls worked with "ability first" to build a wheelchair ramp at Collins' home on Holmes street in Tallahassee.
Nora Collins says she's been struggling to get up and down the stairs for years. And this ramp will help her get out more often and make it easier for paramedics to get her to the hospital when necessary.
