Florida Sheriff’s Explorers from around the state competed in the Florida Sheriff’s Explorer Association Scholastic Pistol Program State Championships held during the FSEA State Conference. The event was hosted by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office and was held at their training facility.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Explorer Post #15 was represented by twelve shooters competing in both rimfire and centerfire events. LCSO Explorers took 1st place honors in the Junior Rimfire and Senior Centerfire categories.
Sheriff Larry Campbell stated, “I am happy to congratulate our Explorers. We are very proud of them. They have expressed an interest in the law enforcement field and they are becoming role models for our community’s youth. The School Resource Deputies enjoy working with the Explorers and their hard work is paying off.”
