While everyone in NYC watches the ball drop, thousands will gather in Florida's capital to celebrate.

Festivities kicked off at 6:30 pm, and the first performer, Royce Lovett, hits the stage at 7 pm, followed by Tobacco Road at 8:30 pm and The Little River Band at 10:30 pm.

The big fireworks show is set to launch at Midnight.

All concerts will be held at the corner of Duval and Pensacola, and all streets around the downtown area have been shut down for tonight's event.

Admission is free for everyone, but tickets for finger foods and an open bar are available for purchase.

Tallahassee, FL - Tuesday is New Year's Eve, and if you don't know how you're bringing in 2014 just yet: "I tell you what, if you're looking for a good time, a family-oriented good time for New Years Eve, you need to come to the downtown New Year's Eve event." Says, Tim Moore.

Moore is a title sponsor with Dale Earnhardt Jr. Buick GMC Cadillac and Chevrolet for the New Year's Eve event in downtown Tallahassee.

This year, the Downtown Countdown begins at 6:30 p.m. New Year's Eve at Kleman Plaza. Festivities will include nationally recognized bands, food, and a spectacular fireworks show at midnight.

Moore says, "If you're really feeling in a celebratory mood, you can purchase a couple of VIP passes to take you down to where there's open bar, refreshments, food from a variety of food vendors in town here. Just come out and have a good time."

The event is free and geared toward all ages. The Kids' Zone is from 7 to 10 p.m. with their very own fireworks display.

Tallahassee resident Hope Lamantia says, "Oh, I think it is great. As a matter of fact, I've considered it for my kids, just because it is going to have a kids zone. I do feel like it's more family-oriented this year than it has been in the past."

If a small part of you still feels like you're missing out on being at Times Square, throughout the evening, huge area displays will simulcast the New Year's Eve celebration in New York City.

"Bring in the new year right. That's exactly right. Have a good time." Moore, says.

Free StarMetro shuttle rides to and from the festivities will be available every 15 minutes from the Governor's Square Mall.
