News Release: Farm Share
Quincy, FL – Farm Share is partnering with the Wakulla County Coalition to sponsor a holiday food distribution on Saturday, Dec. 14, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Wakulla County Community Center, 318 Shadeville Road, in Crawfordville.
Families in need of nutritious food that have registered with Farm Share will be provided Farm Share food packages free of charge. Each household will receive a variety of fresh produce along with toys, shoes, toiletries, diapers and other items.
In the past year, Farm Share has provided more than $40 million in food to those in poverty in Florida. Most of the food is distributed through a community network of church food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior centers, and veterans groups. Farm Share is the largest fresh produce program in Florida and the only statewide and local food bank program that does not charge a fee for any food it provides to community organizations.
