They both Push, they both elbow, and they both play the same position... but they are much more than teammates, they're sisters.

"It was something we had been joking about for years before she ever even moved to Tallahassee, id always be like ooh look at my little roller derby sister in training" says Shannon Young

Shannon AKA Battlescar Galactica is a member of the Capital Punishment, and Ashley AKA Astroid a member of Jailbreak Betties...

"I'd come visit her and watch her practices and come to the games and it was a lot of fun always and they always joke about it and the I ended up coming here going to FSU and joining the team" says Ashley Young.

"I'd be lying if i didn't say i twisted her arm to come to the first practice." says Shannon.

Shannon has shared a lot of her experienced Jammer knowledge with her young jammer sister.

"That is one of the more difficult positions to play, and its really hard to get the hang out, especially the endurance part of it but just getting like the strategy right and little tid bits and tips that help you get faster and get round the pack "

Looking back at the most memorable moment the two have on skates they both point to Ashley's first game.

" It was just a special moment because we got to share the playing field together and it was a lot of fun, especially because she was like, ahh you'll do great." says Ashley.
