It's a brand new season for the Florida State women's Tennis team. Coming off a season that included a sweet sixteen appearance, the Noles have added Freshman Manon Veldman and Ruth Seabourne to the seven women squad. A new team and a new season hasnt stopped their momentum.. in fact it seems to have taken it to a whole new level.
"The heart on this team is pretty tremendous, I think they are all great friends, I think they are really in the trenches with one another. I think the culture of the team has been set now for a couple of years and so its really easy for the freshman to come in and understand whats expected of them. "
In addition to the two new freshman, the two seniors on the team, Katie Ryakova and Frederica Suess have the experience needed to help get the Noles into a top 10 spot, But they arent the only one stepping into a leadership role on the court.
"I think everyone has their leadership role on the team, I think Fedde and I being seniors obviously we have to step up and be leaders, but I also think all the girls have leadership roles also, We always help each other out and we're always there for each other." Says Senior Katie Rybakova.
The ladies already have their first dual match win over FIU, and have a lot to look forward to the rest of the season.
"Our doubles is going to be better than it had in a couple of years so we are excited about it." adds Coach Hyde.
