She's Got Game: Abby Hanson
Abby is now a 6th grader at Raa Middle School, and is the only female to take the field in a Winthrop Park uniform in 14 years. And even though she is a girl...it hasn't made a difference.

Fall Ball is in full swing..and the boys are ready to take the field...well their not all boys....
"Go Abby!"
"I was like four or five, I started playing baseball, and then I really wanted to keep playing baseball."
Abby is now a 6th grader at Raa Middle School, and is the only female to take the field in a Winthrop Park uniform in 14 years. And even though she is a girl...it hasn't made a difference.
"Nobody's been mean to me or think I'm worse because I'm a girl."
Abby has tried her hand in other things, but she knows what shes good at!
" I played soccer for a couple years, but I stopped doing that. I can play the drums and the guitar and a little bit of the piano. Really baseball is my thing, football confuses me."
So we asked Abby, even if you play with the boys do you have a girly side?
"I use to be a really major tomboy, but then my friend over there started me being a girl." says Hanson.
A little girly side huh? Does that mean you'll think about switching to softball?
"That is the question everybody asks me, but I'm not sure, I really like baseball, softball is for girls."
Ok... maybe in High School shes says...

Abby is SOOOO Not Mean, Robin. How could you post that. Congrats on the good news about her baseball playing. Does this mean that practice has started already?
