There are a lot of people that can sing--but not many of them can sing well.

But a group of girls at Florida State are in a league of their own and together, they're taking their talents to the Big Apple.

Meet the Aca-Belles, the only all-girls A capella club on FSU's campus. 16 girls that hear everyday that they sound like Glee--but it's a comparison they'll take any day of the week.

"I think it's exciting this year because Glee won their regional and are going to New York and we won our regional and are going to New York. So it's fun to see that correlation between the show and people are like, you're just like Glee. Basically, we're that cool," said Kenley Flowers, V.P. of Finance for the Aca-Belles.

Yes, they are that cool. Unlike Glee, these girls are very popular on campus. Especially because for the 2nd time in 3 years, they won the South region which means they are headed to New York for the ICCA finals and will sing on stage at the Lincoln Center.

"We were able to move to semis in South Carolina where we placed first which was amazing. All of us were running around screaming. It was an incredible moment. Now we have the opportunity to perform on Lincoln Center stage in New York for the finals so hopefully everything goes smoothly," said Freshman Jennifer Lamb.

The girls say they are truly the best of friends and get together for two hours a day, three times a week to sing in tune and perfect their music on their way to New York, the concrete jungle where dreams are made of...and for these girls, there's nothing they can't do.

First of all, if you continued to watch Glee, you would know that the music teacher's wife lied about being pregnant, which to me is unforgivable. Also, Sue Sylvester is mean. That's her character. There are mean people in every show you watch, just like there are mean people, especially teachers in real life. As for the star posing for the magazine, that was her choice, not her character's. She is an adult. Glee was never a children's show. While it may seem like it sends the wrong message to you, this is how almost every public high school is. I am by no means trying to change your opinion, only open your eyes to mine. Glee allows teenagers to understand REAL issues that affect them and the people they know. As for the FSU girls, I'm happy for them and I have to agree with the other person that replied to this.

When comparing A cappella music like the AcaBelles to Glee it is not to compare the story line but rather the music. The AcaBelles do not agree or disagree with themes on Glee. Simply they love music as do the characters on the show and I believe that is the comparison, the music and competition of the show not the story line or themes.

I had high hopes when the new musical show Glee first appeared on tv. But quickly I saw adultry by their male music teacher cheating on his prenant wife with another female teacher, the rude sarcastic women's coach, (I'm very turned off by her acting), and now the almost nude photo of female singing star appearing on front cover of a mainstream magazine. I quit watching Glee early last year. This show sends a very negative message to our youth and tears down American family values and school system.
