Bailey's surge comes at key time for No. 22 Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -- For someone touted as one of the
nation's very best defensive linemen coming into the season, Allen
Bailey's senior year at Miami has been nothing short of
statistically baffling.
He had only one sack in his previous 10 games going back to last
season.
Then in the last two games alone, he's collected 4 1/2 sacks -- a
career-best 3 1/2 of them last weekend against North Carolina -- as the
22nd-ranked Hurricanes have gotten back on track in the hunt for
the Atlantic Coast Conference title.
It might not be a coincidence that Bailey's most productive two
games have come in two must-win situations for Miami, either.
