Brunswick, GA - The College of Coastal Georgia (5-2) ended Tuesday's men's basketball game against FCCAA No. 2 Tallahassee Community College on a 14-4 run en route to a 64-58 victory, handing the Eagles (4-1) their first loss of the 2010-11 season.
Tallahassee was outrebounded on Tuesday evening, 44-32, and yielded 13 offensive rebounds to the Mariners. Coastal Georgia also outscored Tallahassee, 30-6, from the free throw line, including a 17-3 advantage in the second half.
Coastal Georgia connected on 30-of-39 free throw attempts while Tallahassee managed to hit only 6-of-16.
Richard Anderson scored 16 points to lead Tallahassee. Cory Farmer added 12.
Tallahassee returns to action on Friday evening when it travels to Miami Dade College to participate in the MDC Shark Classic. The Eagles play the host Sharks at 8 p.m. Friday and Palm Beach State College at 2 p.m. Saturday.
