FAMU Volleyball Loses 2nd Match in the Last 10 Years

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (Oct. 22) - South Carolina State handed the Florida A&M University Volleyball team their second loss to a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opponent in ten years!... FAMU lost a 5-set thriller 3-2 (20-25, 25-22, 13-25, 25-13, 11-15), Friday night at Dukes Gym in Orangeburg, SC

SCSU (9-20, 2-2 MEAC) finished the match with 59 kills in 126 total attacks with 17 errors for a .333 hitting percentage.

FAMU (6-12, 4-1, MEAC) tallied 53 kills in 133 total attacks with 16 errors for a .278 hitting percentage.

Katherine Huanec led the Lady Rattlers in kills with 18, while Maria Ceccarelli finished with 10. Diana Gonzalez led the team in assists with 25, while Susan Egoavil led FAMU in digs with 16.

SCSU had a trio of Lady Bulldogs to finish in double-digit kills as Jarne Gleaton led the team in kills with a game high 21. Shabree Roberson added 16 kills, while Elizabeth Webb finished with 10. Bria Brimmer finished the game with a game high 47 digs, while Webb led the team in digs with 15.

FAMU will return to action on Saturday, October 23 as they will travel to Macon, Ga., and take on Mercer University in a 5 p.m. start at Edmond Center.
