Tallahassee, FL - The nationally-ranked Florida State University volleyball team is doing its part to promote the school’s “Paint it Pink” initiative, making a joint effort with FSU’s other women’s athletics programs to raise breast cancer awareness.

“The Florida State Volleyball program is very proud to bring awareness to breast cancer and help to raise money for further research,” head coach Chris Poole said. “It is a great opportunity for us to show support and to make an impact in the lives of families everywhere.”

The team, which holds a No. 20 national ranking, will hold two free post-match instructional clinics for children five years of age thru eighth grade. The first clinic will take place this Sunday, Oct. 10, following FSU’s 1 p.m. match against Georgia Tech at Tully Gym.

Attendees will receive a post-match talk with coaches and players, and will also be treated to a private autograph session that includes a poster. Donations will also be accepted at both clinics, with all the proceeds benefitting the Tallahassee Memorial Sharon Ewing Walker Breast Health Center.

The other clinic takes place on Sunday, Nov. 21, following FSU’s 1 p.m. contest against Boston College. Both clinics will begin following a brief 10-minute break after each match.

The volleyball team will also host its “Paint it Pink” match on Sunday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m. against fellow Atlantic Coast Conference favorite Duke.

A registration form for both clinics can be found on the sports links section at the bottom of the Seminoles.com volleyball page, with a tab labeled “Paint it Pink Clinic Registration Form.”
