Birmingham, AL - Brittany Ferguson has stood out during Valdosta State’s 2-1 start to the season, and the Gulf South Conference noticed. The GSC awarded Ferguson with her first GSC Player of the Week award of her career.
In the team’s first three games, Ferguson is averaging 17.3 points, eight rebounds, 1.3 steals an assist and a block per game. Ferguson is scoring efficiently, shooting at a rate of 46.8 percent overall.
Ferguson led the Lady Blazers in rebounding in all three games and led the team in scoring in its most recent game against Georgia Southwestern.
She has upped her points in each game, scoring 13 and 16 respectively in wins against Nova Southeastern and Barry and a game-high 23 points Tuesday night against Georgia Southwestern.
Ferguson and the team will face Saint Leo at Saint Leo, Fla., at 2 p.m. Saturday.
