Birmingham, AL - For the second time this season, Brittany Ferguson stood out among the Gulf South Conference’s best to earn her second GSC Player of the Week award.
Valdosta State only played one game this week, but Ferguson double-doubled in a second game against Albany State. Ferguson scored 15 points and paced the Lady Blazers on the glass with 14 rebounds, eight of which came on the offensive side.
Ferguson helped lead Valdosta State to its fourth road win of the season in the 66-64 victory over Albany State Monday night. Ferguson is currently third in the conference in scoring (16.9 points per game) and rebounding (8.4 rebounds per game) while also in the top 10 of the GSC in steals (2.7 steals per game, second) and field goal percentage (.439, 10th).
After notching seven double-doubles last season, Ferguson’s first double-double of the season this year was good enough for the Player of the Week award. Next up, she will lead her team into the Days INNvitational against Columbus State and Coastal Georgia at 6 p.m. on Thrusday and Friday.
