Tallahassee, FL -- The defending ACC champion Florida State University softball program will be hosting several upcoming camps and clinics for people of all ages, beginning with a clinic that features three sessions on Jan. 22.

"We love having the opportunity to share the game with players that want to take their game to the next level,” FSU softball head coach Lonni Alameda said. “We enjoy working with all levels of athletes. We have also enjoyed meeting players from the local Tallahassee area to all of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Texas and as far as California. FSU Softball wishes everyone success as they begin their spring season and hope to see you on the ball field soon."

The Jan. 22 clinic covers every aspect of the game, with the first session focusing on hitting. The FSU softball coaching staff will focus on several points involving each attendee’s mechanics at the plate through video analysis to provide an in-depth look at improving one’s swing. The second session consists of working on fundamental techniques with infielders and outfielders to help improve their defense.

The third and final session of the Jan. 22 clinic focuses on benefitting pitchers and catchers. With the high school season coming up in several areas, players of these respective positions have an opportunity to get ‘ahead of the game’ by working with FSU softball coaches and student-athletes in bettering themselves in the circle and behind the plate.

The second winter clinic hosted by the FSU softball program occurs on Feb. 8, and also involves instruction on a vast array of phases surrounding the game. In addition to hitting, fielding and pitching instruction, campers will also learn the strategies of softball and partake in vision, mental, speed and agility training.

Those looking to better themselves for competitive or recreational purposes can take advantage of the Presidents’ Day holiday and attend the third Seminole softball camp on Feb. 20 following the opening weekend of the Seminole Classic. The tournament that runs from Feb. 17-19 involves teams such as Western Carolina, Coastal Carolina, reigning NCAA participant North Dakota State and Mercer. The Presidents’ Day Camp will cover the same set of principles as the first camp of the winter season.

All camps will be held at the Seminole Softball Complex, which houses one of the finest NCAA softball facilities in the country in JoAnne Graf Field. Attached to the field along the first-base side is a one-of-a-kind indoor hitting facility that features several bullpen areas and hitting nets to help maximize each attendee’s time.
