Tallahassee, FL -- November 7, 2011 --

Former Tallahassee Community College men’s basketball assistant coach Mike Leeder will return to Tallahassee on Monday evening when he brings his Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes to town to face the Florida State Seminoles in an exhibition game at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

Leeder was an assistant coach on Mike Gillespie’s staff at Tallahassee from 1991-95, the Eagles’ first four seasons as an NJCAA-member institution. During that time, Tallahassee compiled a record of 93-30 and made its first two appearances in the NJCAA Region VIII/FCSAA Tournament.

While at Tallahassee, Leeder’s pupils included Jason Cipolla, who later starred at Syracuse University, and Kerry Thompson, who led Florida State to the NCAA Tournament in 1998.

Leeder is in his sixth season as head coach at Georgia Southwestern.

Tip-off on Monday evening is slated for 7 p.m.
