Athens, GA - The University of Georgia soccer team was recognized Wednesday by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) with a Team Academic Award for the 2009-10 school year.
The award is the eighth in a row for the Bulldogs. Teams are eligible by maintaining a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average for that year. A total of 630 teams (194 men, 436 women) received the honor, including eight from the Southeastern Conference.
Georgia posted an overall record of 11-6-4 and reached the semifinals of the SEC Championships in Orange Beach, Ala.
