Windermere, FL - The No. 10 Georgia men’s golf team came in 11th on Tuesday at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational.
The Bulldogs finished at 44-over-par 908, including a final-round 15-over 303. Alabama took team honors at 884.
Senior Harris English paced the Bulldogs in the third round with a 1-over 73. Senior Russell Henley added a 2-over 74, senior Hudson Swafford and sophomore T.J. Mitchell each signed for a 6-over 78, and sophomore Scott McAlpine had an 18-over 90.
English finished 16th at 7-over 223, 11 shots behind medalist Bank Vongvanij of Florida (212). Henley wound up at 12-over 228, while Swafford and Mitchell each finished at 17-over 233, and McAlpine ended up at 24-over 240.
The Isleworth Collegiate Invitational was Georgia’s final event of the fall. The Bulldogs will resume action in February at the Puerto Rico Classic.
“We just never got it going this week,” Georgia coach Chris Haack. “As players and coaches, we’re all disappointed in the outcome, but we will learn from this. We’ll go into the break knowing that we have to keep working hard and come out firing in the spring.”
