Windermere, FL - The No. 10-ranked Georgia men’s golf team remained in 11th place after the second round of the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational on Monday.
The Bulldogs fired a second-round 13-over-par 301 to move to 29-over 605. Alabama has the team lead at 5-over 583.
Sophomore Scott McAlpine led the Bulldogs on Monday with a 1-over 73. Senior Harris English had a 3-over 75, sophomore T.J. Mitchell signed for a 4-over 76 and senior Hudson Swafford added a 5-over 77. Senior Russell Henley had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 8-over 80.
McAlpine and English are in the group tied at 6-over 150, 11 strokes behind leader Robin Wingardh of Tennessee. Henley moved to 10-over 154, followed by Mitchell and Swafford each at 11-over 155.
“It’s important that we close out strong on Tuesday,” Georgia coach Chris Haack said. “This is our final tournament of the fall, so we need to finish on a high note going into the break. There are positives to build on in every tournament, no matter where you finish. We’ll play the final round and hopefully look back feeling good about the way we closed.”
The Isleworth Collegiate Invitational will conclude on Tuesday with the Bulldogs teeing off at 8:50 a.m.
