Georgia Run Ends At ITA Men’s All-Americans

Tulsa, OK - The Georgia men’s tennis team saw its run at the ITA/D’Novo All-American Championships come to an end as a pair of Bulldogs dropped their first round singles matches Thursday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.

Senior Javier Garrapiz – seeded 13th – faced off against Alex Domijan from Virginia and fell 6-2, 6-1.

Junior Sadio Doumbia won the first set but ended up with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 loss to the Cavaliers’ 12th-seeded Sanam Singh. Doumbia earned his place in the main draw with three straight wins in the qualifier. Today’s match was the sixth in four days for Doumbia, who also played in doubles qualifying.

The Bulldogs are back in action in two weeks when they head to the ITA Regional in Gainesville, Fla., beginning Fri., Oct. 22.
