Atlanta, GA - The Georgia Tech Women’s Basketball team and the Atlantic Coast Conference announced the addition of three televised games to the upcoming 2010-11 season Friday. The Yellow Jackets will have a total of eight games available for fans to watch this year.
“We are excited to have eight of our games televised this season,” head coach MaChelle Joseph said. “We are fortunate to play in a conference like the ACC that provides us with this type of national exposure. These televised games will give our players and program the type of publicity we need to continue to grow into a top 25 program nationally.”
Comcast Sports South (CSS) has picked up the Jackets home game against in-state rival Georgia on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. CSS will also broadcast Tech’s road games at Clemson (Sun, Jan. 9 at 3 p.m.) and at Miami (Sun., Jan. 30 at 3 p.m.).
Previously announced, The Yellow Jackets will have four games broadcast on the ACC Regional Sports Network, all of which will be conference match-ups. Tech’s first of three consecutive games on TV is at Wake Forest on Jan. 17. The second RSN game is Jan. 21 when Tech heads to Duke, immediately followed by a Jan. 23 contest against Boston College in Atlanta and on Feb. 11 at Florida State.
Tech will make an appearance in the national spotlight when ESPN comes to campus to air its game against NC State on Feb. 13 on ESPN2 at 5 p.m. The Yellow Jackets will wear their pink uniforms as part of the annual Pink Zone event.
