Tallahassee, FL - After finishing second at the Inverness Intercollegiate last weekend, the team looks to improve on their play at the PING/Golfweek Preview this weekend. The team is playing at the Capital City Crabtree in Alpharetta, Ga. The par-70, 7,246 yard course will host the NCAA Championships in late May.
The Garnet and Gold tee off on the back nine Sunday, September 23 at 9:20am and play will continue through Tuesday. Beginning in 1989 the Preview seen 15 prospective challengers for the NCAA title at the course that hosts the tournament.
The team fields senior Chase Seiffert (Panama City, Fla.), junior Bjorn Hellgren (Vasteras. Sweden), sophomore Daniel Berger (Jupiter, Fla.) and freshmen Collin Engelhardt (Orlando, Fla.) and Rowan Caron (Terheijden, The Netherlands). Seiffert finished in third place last week while Engelhardt debuted for the Seminoles. Caron makes his first outing in the Garnet and Gold while Berger makes his first appearance of the season.
The Seminoles are part of a 15-team field that features 14 top 25 teams. Joining No. 18 Florida State is No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Texas, No. 3 UCLA, No. 6 Cal, No. 8 Georgia Tech, No. 10 Washington, No. 11 Texas A&M, No. 12 Arkansas, No. 14 San Diego, No. 15 Kent State, No. 16 UNLV, No. 20 New Mexico, No. 24 Georgia and No. 32 Chattanooga.
