Birmingham, AL -- Valdosta State softball has only played four games so far this season, but senior transfer Alanna Hadley was able to do enough in two starts to be named the Gulf South Conference’s Pitcher of the Week.

Hadley threw two complete games, going 1-1 with a 0.64 earned run average, the lowest on the VSU squad in this young season. In a 6-1 victory against Nova Southeastern, Hadley gave up just three hits and an unearned run, striking out two en route to the victory.

The senior from Dacula struck out five on the week and pitched a full 14 innings. Hadley only gave up one run and five hits in her two games played. She did not walk a single batter.

Hadley and the rest of the squad will travel to Albany to take on the Golden Rams of Albany State in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
